On
yesterday's Oprah Show, which was again our TIVO'd dining companion,
the theme was incredible survivals. One such story concerned an Indian
woman who was sold into slavery at age seven, but survived and married a
Vietnamese man who, as a boy of nine, was put on a boat by his father
so that he might survive the genocide that was the rule in post war
Vietnam. His was truly a horrifying tale, and during it all
I wondered whether Oprah realized that his plight was a direct
result of congressional Democrat behavior in the 1970's, just as they
are now poised to do to the Middle East? Of course
she doesn't.
