Last night we watched what Oprah called her antidote for an earlier
Frank Rich appearance.· Okay, she used ''response,'' but snake bites require antidotes, and she chose
Bill O'Reilly· (showing the clip where he questioned the veracity of Mr. Rich after his appearance). ·
Don't sneer folks.· Many, many Americans get nearly 100% of their
political socialization via Oprah.· My take on her is she's a
genuine person, who tries.· At heart Oprah is a staunch liberal,
but willing to attempt fairness.· I think her very civil behavior
(acceptance) when Dubya was her guest (during the 2000 campaign)·
was crucial to his election.· She is a political force, although
one that can explode at times (Katrina).
Anyway, O'Reilly was as good as you'll probably get in this type of
forum.· That is to say, he's glib, self effacing, and does not
back down.·
O'Reilly:· [Frank Rich] is a Bush hater.
Oprah:· He says he's not.
Me:· LMFAO
O'Reilly: Believed by anyone who's never read his column.

Not a direct quote, but substantially on target. There were two- maybe
three ACLU activists/apologists in the audience, and he was, I thought,
effective in explaining that this organization -of perhaps the
filthiest group of Americans extant-· is· nothing more today
than a gaggle of left-wing political activists.
The most effective audience comments came from a young Black
American.· During one exchange he noted that FOX news was the only
venue where the ''right questions'' were asked of interviewees. In
another, he opined that Iraq has served as a magnet, drawing terrorsts
from around the world to confront us there, and not here.·
Clap-clap-clap.·
There was even an All-American
pasty faced
(really), America hating bitch (whom both of us wanted to see
vigorously face slapped) in the audience.· Her diatribe included
all the official DNC talking points, including Cheney getting rich off
Haliburton's involvement in Iraq.· She was dismissed with· an
O'Reilly eye roll, not worthy of· retort.
